Benzinga publishes the record of what a listed company said and did, and the market it said it into. This Airnode wraps the newswire, the corporate calendar of earnings, dividends, splits, guidance, analyst ratings, mergers, offerings and FDA milestones, the disclosures filed by company insiders and by members of Congress, the price history and financial statements underneath, and the transcripts of the calls where management explained themselves. A consumer receives a record with a signature saying this Airnode obtained it from Benzinga at this time. These records are revised: an earnings date moves and the actual lands beside the estimate that preceded it, a deal goes from rumoured to completed, a statement is restated, a story is corrected, and any of them can be withdrawn outright. What a feed said on the day is not what it says now, and a signed copy is the only thing that still holds the earlier reading.
Every response carries an EIP-191 signature from the Airnode that served it, so the data can be attributed back to its source rather than trusted on reputation.
